Content Determination
1. Take 5 pills of this product, weigh accurately, place in a 500ml flask, add 10g of sodium chloride and 5ml of ethanol, distill with water vapor, collect about 250ml of distillate, transfer to a 250ml volumetric flask, and dilute to the scale with water. According to the spectrophotometric method (Appendix page 51), the absorbance is measured at a wavelength of 274nm, and the absorption coefficient (E1%1cm) of paeonol (C9H10O3) is calculated as 862.

Golden Chamber Shenqi Pills can replenish the deficiency of yin and help the weakness of yang. The name of the prescription is Shenqi Pills, because qi belongs to yang, and it replenishes the yang qi in the kidney. The prescription contains Liuwei Dihuang Pill (rehmannia root, Chinese yam, cornus fruit, oriental water chestnut, poria cocos, peony bark) to nourish kidney water, and contains aconite and cinnamon twig to strengthen the yang in the kidney. The “kidney” in Chinese medicine is different from the kidney in Western medicine anatomy. Chinese medicine defines the kidney according to its function. Chinese medicine believes that the yin and yang of the whole body are rooted in the kidney; the kidney governs bone and marrow production and is closely related to reproductive development.
