The outer surface of the bract is purple-red or light red, and the inner surface is densely covered with white flocculent hairs. The body is light and white hairs can be seen after tearing it open. (1) This product is brown in color. There are many non-glandular hands, which are single-celled and twisted into a ball with a diameter of 5~24um. The glandular hairs are slightly rod-shaped, with 4~8 cells on the head and 2 rows of cells on the stalk. The pollen grains are small, spherical in diameter, 25~48um, with sharp thorns on the surface and 3 germination holes. The pappus is branched, each branch is single-celled, and the tip is gradually pointed. The secretory cells are round or oblong and contain yellow secretions.
(2) Take 1g of this product powder, add 20ml of ethanol, ultrasonically treat for 1 hour, filter, evaporate the filtrate to dryness, add 1ml of ethyl acetate to the residue to dissolve it, and use it as the test solution. Take 1g of the control medicinal material of coltsfoot flower and prepare the control medicinal material solution in the same way. Take another reference substance of coltsfoot ketone, add ethyl acetate to make a solution containing 1 mg per 1 ml, as the reference substance solution. According to the thin layer chromatography method (General Rule 0502), take 2~5u1 of the test solution and the reference medicinal material solution, and 2u of the reference substance solution, and spot them on the same tridacna G thin layer plate, use petroleum ether (60~90℃)-acetone (6:1) as the developing agent, develop, take out, dry, spray with 10% sulfuric acid ethanol solution, heat at 105℃ until the spots are clearly colored, and examine under ultraviolet light (365nm). In the chromatogram of the test sample, spots of the same color appear at the corresponding positions of the chromatogram of the reference medicinal material and the chromatogram of the reference substance.
[Extract] According to the hot leaching method under the determination method of alcohol-soluble extracts (General Rule 2201), ethanol is used as the solvent, and it shall not be less than 20.0%.

Chromatographic conditions and system suitability test Octadecyl brickane bonded tridacnamidol as filler; methanol-water (85:15) as mobile phase: detection wavelength is 220nm, and the number of theoretical plates calculated according to the coltsfoot ketone peak should not be less than 5000.
